EF SA (Representation of
the Vilnius University Faculty of Economics) is one of them.

EF SA - Students Representation of Faculty of Economics

Students Representation of Faculty of Economics (EF SA) was established in 2002. Today EF SA is one of the most significant subdivisions of VU SA (Vilnius University Students Representation). The main goal of EF SA is to represent the interests of all the students of the faculty by:

• Protecting students' rights.
• Helping them to solve all sorts of academic, social and other issues.
• Organizing various conferences, open-door days and other free time activities.
That is why EF SA members take part in Faculty of Economics council, academic committee and education committee.

Each student attends lectures and studies on his/her own as well. Using knowledge acquired through studies they become able to improve both professionally and socially. EF SA is the only representation whose activities closely associate with speciality of students. For example, every one studying economics or management more or less associate their future life with marketing, information spread and leadership. That is why EF SA members communicate with both domestic and foreign companies. EF SA also publishes a newspaper of Faculty of Economics for students Studentus Economicus
which is made by the students themselves.

Moreover, EF SA carries out projects for students so that they could put their theoretical knowledge into practice and gain experience and knowledge for their future careers. Some of the projects by EF SA have become a tradition and involve students from other Lithuanian and foreign universities. Projects are:
Mercury Days. It is one of the biggest events of the faculty of economics. The most significant feature the celebration involves switching lights in dormitory of the Vilnius University so that the lights in windows form initials of Faculty of Economics (EF). During the celebration students can attend various seminars, conferences, artistic training. In the evening they watch spectacular performances.

JVL (Junior Entrepreneur League). It is a club which unites the most intelligent and enterprising students. They have an opportunity to analyze economic situation in Lithuania and all over the world. They also solve problems in exercises associated with businesses. Furthermore, the members participate in business conferences and seminars.
Freshmen camps. It is a summer event where freshmen have an opportunity to get to know each other, make acquaintances, friends and learn the basic information about the Faculty of Economics.
EF SA grand meeting. It is an annual event of EF SA, in which the new members can get acquainted with senior EF SA members. The beginners are also provided with information about the job of a representative and other basics.
Rights and duties week. It is a special week in Vilnius University when EF SA members inform all students about academic (studying opportunities, session time and examinations process), social (scholarships, social grants and accommodation opportunities) and other issues. Also special lectures are being held in order to make them aware of the news ineducation.
Sausrinės (Droughty feast). It is a party organized by EF SA members during which students are not allowed to drink alcohol. In this way EF SA tries to show that parties without alcohol can be even more attractive to students than parties with hard drinks. This event proves that students of Vilnius University are sensible enough to make fun without being sober.
EF SA training. Usually it is a weekend during which all the members of EF SA gathers together in one particular place in order to improve their team work, learn to plan their time and get some theoretical information about the students of Economic Faculty needs and wants. This is a great opportunity for each member to find out the real objectives and to feel the real spirit of EF SA.
ERASMUS exchange programme. It is a programme for Vilnius University and many other foreign universities students to change their places and share knowledge and experience. EF SA organizes a programme of mentors to help foreign students to adapt and to solve problem that occur to them while studying in Vilnius University.
